Assistant Summer Staff Application
For: Junior and Senior high students (Done with 7th – 12th)
Dates: June 1st – July 31st plus an Orientation in May.
Service hours and Discipleship meetings vary throughout the summer.
Program limit: 18 students who are a connected with HCC or the Harrisburg community. Students must have trusted Christ as their Savior and been baptized.
Program benchmarks:
Read all 25 chapters in the Bible Basics study or pass the bible basics test.
Discipleship meeting weekly with a summer staff intern.
Volunteer 25 hours at VBS / HCC / Children’s Church / Backyard Bible Clubs / Kids
Camp / etc.
Demonstrate the ability to share the gospel and your testimony.
Develop a personal devotional time.
Reward:
$100 trip dollars toward a youth or mission activity over the next year.
Growth in your walk with the Lord and the opportunity to be used by God to help others.
50% Christian camp scholarship. (Up to $150)
One on one discipleship time with a summer staff intern.
Assistant Staff Day: Most likely Tuesdays will be our assistant staff day. Assistant staffers will arrive at 9:00 am at HCC and do everything the staff does that day. If you can’t attend every Tuesday or stay the whole day, that is fine we would at the very least ask you to make every effort to be there for part of the day.
Below is what a typical Tuesday’s schedule would look like.
1. 9-10 they have a quiet time/devotion.
2. 10-12 they have training time.
12-1 lunch.
1-3 they volunteer at summer school or do Backyard Bible Club.
3-5 is more training or free time.
5:30-7:30 service project.
